MEPAP, is designed as criteria for activity professional certification. Workshops are catered to specific needs of activity directors ranging in topics from activity program design, to activities for the dementia resident, disease understanding, alternative therapies such as pet therapy, horticulture therapy, laughter, exercise, sensory stimulation and more.

Social Service
RCW sponsors a two-day Social Service Course each year covering the basic knowledge needed to be an effective social services director. It is designed for the beginning social service director and as a review for more seasoned social service directors and assistants. Select from above options.
Building a Deficiency Free Activity Program
New Interpretive Guidelines specifically F-tag 248 & 249 require Activity Directors to be creative. Nursing facilities are expected to offer on-going activities that are meaningful, not childish, individually tailored to resident interest and capacity, and that they accommodate residents’ physical, cognitive and behavior concerns.
